Glapinski Says Inflation May Reach Upper End Of Target Range In 2024 Or 2025

Moving to a discussion of the outlook for the Polish economy, Governor Adam Glapinski says that headline inflation should reach the upper end of the +2.5% Y/Y +/- 1pp target range in 2025. He adds that some analyses suggest that this could be achieved earlier, possibly next year.

  • Echoing the MPC statement, the Governor describes yesterday's move in rates as an "adjustment" amid falling inflation. He says that the NBP now moves to a "wait-and-see" stance and will shape monetary policy depending on how the macroeconomic situation develops.
