Global Jet Fuel Demand Set for Weekly Rise: BNEF

Global implied jet fuel demand is set for a weekly gain of 1% to 6.0m b/d in the week to Dec. 11, according to BNEF.

  • The increase is set to be driven by rising demand in Asia, up by 1.5% on the week. Western Europe’s demand is also up by 0.9%. All regions are set for both a week-on-week and year-on-year rise.
  • Global jet fuel demand for domestic flights is set to increase by just 0.1% on the week, while demand from international flights is up 1.6%.
  • Domestic flights in China are set to grow 7.2% over the next four weeks, according to current schedules. However, last-minute changes and cancellations are commonplace.
