GOLD: Gold moved higher through the Asian session after President Trump said in
a speech yesterday that the US would raise tariffs on China in a precautionary
move but also noted that a phase one deal could happen soon.
- The yellow metal is $6/oz higher than yesterday's settlement levels but $17/oz
higher than the trough seen yesterday. Gold sits at $1,462/oz at the time of
writing.
- Fed Chair Powell is due to begin his testimony ahead of Congress at 16:00GMT
today and his comments will be closely watched by the market.
