GOLD: Gold relatively flat in Asia, moving within a $0.30 range, last at
$1293.08. Taking a slight bid at the start of the session on strong words from
N. Korea.
- Gold dipped on the overnight due to "signs of resilience in the US economy,
supporting the case for continued rate hikes. Manufacturing in NY state expanded
much better than expected in October. This helped push the USD higher, thus
weighing on investor appetite for the precious metal. Fed chair Yellen also
suggested that consumer prices will soon accelerate, allowing them to raise
interest rates." (Barclays)
