Governing Council Confirm Board Will Shrink to Five Following Ohlsson Departure

  • The Riksbank Governing Council confirm that they will not replace Deputy Governor Ohlsson when he departs from the Riksbank in July. As a result, the governing council will shrink from six, to five thereafter.
  • Not too much of a surprise for Riksbank - when Ohlsson originally resigned, we already knew that the new law that came into effect this year meant that the number of board members had to be five by 2028 at the latest. Looks like they're taking that chance to get well ahead of the deadline.
