Government Proposes To Cut Copper and Silver Tax By 30%

  • Polish Parliament Skowronska commented yesterday that Elzbieta Ostrowska was withdrawn as MPC candidate.
  • As a reminder, Poland’s lower house of parliament proposed Law & Justice lawmaker Wieslaw Janczyk and Gdansk University professor Elzbieta Ostrowska as candidates to the central bank’s Monetary Policy Council, according to the documents on the parliament’s website (BBG). Vote was scheduled for Jan 26/27.
  • Poland’s government proposed cutting copper and silver tax rate by 30% from Jan. 1 to Nov. 30 in an amendment to law sent to the parliament (BBG).
  • Economic data also showed yesterday that unemployment rate remained steady in December at 5.4%.
