Government Raise Civil Servant Wages by 15% for 1H2024

  • NTV Television report that the Turkish government will raise civil servants’ salaries by 15% in the first half of 2024 and by an additional 10% in the second half of the year.
  • Earlier this month, civil servants affiliated with the Confederation of Public Employees Trade Union went on strike following the government's proposal of a 14% pay rise for the first six months of 2024 and 9% for the second half.
  • An increase of 35% in the first 3 months, 10% in the second 3 months and 15% in the third 3 months was requested at the time.
