Government To Make Sure Power Price Increases For Next Year Will be ‘Significantly Lower’

  • Poland’s government will make sure power price increases next year will be “significantly lower” than those signaled by the energy market regulator, Premier Mateusz Morawiecki said at a press conference yesterday (BBG).
  • Regulator estimated that Polish households face power prices increases by as much as 180%.
  • Poland Ruling Party may propose Gabriela Maslowska for one of the vacancies at the NBP.
  • Senate is also likely to pick Joanna Tyrowicz as another candidate; Tyrowicz is a labor market economist and has been a critic of current governor Glapinski.
