US: Greenback headed into the NY crossover higher as US traders clearly happy to
reverse the modest improvement in risk appetite seen throughout European hours.
USD index still sits slightly south of yesterday's highs, but if current
momentum holds 97.74 could easily be revisited.
-US equity futures still point to a higher open on Wall Street today, but much
of the gains have been sold, with e-mini S&P retracing back to 2885, around 10
points off the day's best levels.
-US yields sit slightly lower, but are holding much of yesterday's
late-in-the-day rally. 10yr sits at 1.71% while the curve has slightly
flattened.
-Commodity markets are consolidating: WTI and Brent crude futures are in the
green, but only after suffering a dismal Wednesday. WTI managed to steer clear
of the $50/bbl mark, but prices remain in bear market territory for now.
