Gulf WTI Cargoes to Europe Surge in May

OIL

US Gulf crude exports have had a strong start in May, with volumes primarily targeting Europe as it recovers from peak maintenance in April.

  • European imports of West African crude have also picked up pace in May whilst Asia’s arrivals have declined on weak refinery margins.
  • Wider European diesel demand looked strong over Mar/Apr but ample supplies have pushed cracks in the region lower.
