Hammerfest LNG Leak Repaired

The gas leak at Norway’s Hammerfest LNG plant that caused an evacuation this week has been repaired according to Equinor but will remain shut until 1000 GMT Friday as initially communicated.

  • "There were no problems at the facility before the leak occurred," the spokesperson said.
  • The incident occurred during a short maintenance outage on Tuesday for an annual equipment test, which was initially scheduled to last less than one day, an Equinor spokesperson said in an email to Reuters.
