GILT SUMMARY
GILT SUMMARY: Having wrested 'control' of the Brexit agenda, MPs will take part
in a series of indicative votes this evening in a bid to break the impasse.
Voting will commence from 1900GMT with results expected around 2100GMT.
- Before then, PM Theresa May will meet with the 1922 Committee of Conservative
backbenchers at 1700GMT. May is likely to be asked to announce her departure
date, which will help improve the parliamentary arithmetic of getting her
preferred Brexit deal over the line. However, with the DUP still rejecting the
deal and a few dozen diehard ERG members likely to continue voting against it,
MV3 will still struggle to pass.
- Gilts have rallied this morning with marginal flattening of the curve. Yields
are 1-2bp lower on the day with the very long-end outperforming. Current yield
levels: 2-year 0.645%, 5-year 0.770%, 10-year 0.988%, 30-year 1.509%.
- The Jun-19 gilt future trades at 129.48, near the middle of the day's range.
- Short sterling futures are 0.5-1.5 ticks higher.
