Equities have stabilized somewhat following Monday's rout, with most futures/indices off session's worst levels - but we have more or less flatlined, with next direction sought.

  • Asian indices closed lower (Japan still on hoilday). China's SHANGHAI closed down 42.633 pts or -1.29% at 3274.302 and the HANG SENG ended 233.84 pts lower or -0.98% at 23716.85
  • European bourses are largely up, with the German Dax up 108.14 pts or +0.86% at 12655.19, FTSE 100 up 0.19 pts or +0% at 5798.87, CAC 40 up 13.32 pts or +0.28% at 4792.41 and Euro Stoxx 50 up 17.49 pts or +0.55% at 3181.06.
  • U.S. futures are mixed, with the Dow Jones mini down 77 pts or -0.28% at 26984, S&P 500 mini down 4.5 pts or -0.14% at 3270.25, NASDAQ mini up 10.25 pts or +0.09% at 11003.75.
