Hoyer: No House Votes Tomorrow, Early Meeting Likely Next Week On Debt Limit

House of Representatives majority leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) releases a statement confirming that all votes in the House tomorrow have been cancelled to accomodate memorial services for the late Senator and 1996 Republican presidential nominee Bob Dole. The statement says that the House could meet on raising the debt limit early next week: "Members are advised that no votes are expected in the House tomorrow, Friday, December 10th, to accommodate services for the late Senator Bob Dole. House Members are further advised that pending Senate action on legislation relating to the federal debt limit, the House is expected to meet early next week. Additional legislative items are possible.”
