HPCL Eyes Chhara LNG Import Terminal Start-Up for Oct-Dec

HPCL LNG is scheduled to start operations at its 5mn t/yr Chhara LNG import terminal on India’s west coast in October-December, HPCL LNG’s CEO Sreenivasa Rao said.

  • The terminal has been constructed but the gas pipeline to ship LNG to consumers still needs to be completed, he said.
  • The firm is planning to use around 2mn tons of the capacity for its own use. HPCL received around six bids for the leasing of the remaining capacity.
  • HPCL aims to double to terminal’s capacity to 10mn t/yr a year later. The terminal will operate at around 30% of capacity in 202 and at full capacity in around four years.
