IEA Warn China Demand Return Could Be Bigger Than Expected

China’s economy could be posed for a stronger rebound than expected that will deliver a further boost for oil and gas demand according to IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol.

  • Jet fuel consumption in China is already “very, very strong,” and that’s likely to increase overall oil demand if it continues to grow at the same pace, he said.
  • He said rising demand will also hit LNG markets because of tight volumes on the market.
