Ilsky Refinery Fire Russia Potentially Adds to String of Ukrainian Attacks

Russian refinery infrastructure overview of main attacks:

  • (Suspected Ukrainian attack at present – details on cause not confirmed) Russia’s Ilsky refinery was on fire for more than two hours early on Friday morning.
  • The Ilsky refinery has been targeted twice in the past by Ukrainian drones. It processed 117kbd in January.
  • Other key Russian targets damaged this year by Ukrainian attacks: Rosneft PJSC’s Tuapse refinery in the Black Sea (Jan 25), Novatek PJSC’s Ust-Luga plant in the Baltic Sea (Jan 21) – both halted some operations as a result.
  • Lukoil PJSC’s Volgograd refinery is also set to reduce its processing volumes following a fire last weekend.
  • Rosneft’s Ryazan refinery, outside of Moscow, was damaged in a fire in the second half of January.
