Implied Jet Fuel Demand Falls 0.6% on Week: BNEF

JET FUEL

Implied jet fuel demand based on passenger schedules will fall 0.6% on the week to 6.2m b/d in the seven days to March 4, according to BNEF.

  • The fall is largely driven by softening demand in Asia, which is down by 2% on the week.
  • In China, the number of domestic flights is set to drop by 3% in the next four weeks. However, these schedules are subject to short-term changes.
  • The Rotterdam FOB barge price was last assessed at $895.57/mt Feb. 26, compared to $903.64/mt Feb. 19. However, this is up from around $5/mt on the year.
