India Fuel Consumption Highest Since March

India's fuel consumption rose 10.2% year-on-year in November to 18.84m tonnes, reaching the highest since March according to data from the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell of the oil ministry on Friday.

  • Sales of diesel jumped 19% year on year in November to the highest since May 2019 while gasoline also increase by 8.1%.
    • Diesel consumption +19% y/y to 7.76m tons
    • Gasoline consumption +8.1% y/y to 2.86m tons
    • LPG consumption +5.1% y/y to 2.47m tons
    • Naphtha consumption -18% y/y to 1.01m tons
    • Petcoke consumption +5.4% y/y to 1.14m tons
