India’s Product Demand Rises in November on Diwali Boost

India’s Gasoline and Jet fuel consumption rose in November, amid increased travel and industrial activity during the Diwali season, according to Argus.

  • Gasoline consumption rose by 3% on the month and 9% on the year to 881k b/d, according to Oil Ministry data.
  • Jet fuel demand increased by 3% on the month and 12% on the year to 181k b/d.
  • Air travel was boosted by increased economic activity, while domestic air passenger traffic in India hit post covid highs in November.
  • Diesel consumption was up 2% on the month, but down 3% on the year to 1.87m b/d.
