Indonesia to Raise LNG Exports on Tangguh 3 Expansion

Indonesia is planning to produce around 250 LNG cargoes in 2024, compared with 213 cargoes in 2023 because of the expansion of BP’s Tangguh Train 3 project, a senior official at SKK Migas said, cited by S&P Commodity Insights.

  • Indonesia plans to export 167-170 LNG cargoes this year, up from around 139.5 cargoes in 2023, while the remainder will be used for domestic use.
  • The country sold 35-36 LNG cargoes in the spot market last year.
  • The Tangguh Train 3 project has an LNG production capacity of 3.8mtpa and has raised the Tangguh LNG terminal's total production capacity to 11.4mtpa.
