Industrial PPI Tops Expectations, Parliament To Debate Pension Bill

  • Czechia's industrial PPI eased to +19.0% Y/Y last month from +20.1% prior, exceeding the +14.6% median forecast by a wide margin. None of the analysts polled by Bloomberg expected such a hot reading. The CSO said that "energy prices had the biggest impact, which rose more than by 34%."
  • The Chamber of Deputies holds a session to discuss a contentious government bill that would slow pension indexation. The debate is scheduled to start at 10:00CET/09:00GMT, with some opposition lawmakers threatening lawsuits and filibuster.
  • President-elect Petr Pavel will meet with Prime Minister Petr Fiala this morning. Separately, ANO leader Andrej Babis confirmed that he will attend Pavel's inauguration on March 9.
