Industry Group Says Mining Activity Unaffected By Protests

  • According to AFP, hundreds of protesters on Monday used burning tires, wood and rocks to block the airport runway in Peru's second-largest city, Arequipa, demonstrating against the ousting of former president Pedro Castillo.
  • Separately, an industry group have indicated that Peruvian mines have been unaffected by the political protests and that the rule of law has prevailed against last week’s coup attempt. They added that new cabinet is better than previous.
