Inflation Reduction Act Discussion On The Agenda In Bussels And Davos

US Trade Rep Katherine Tai will travel to Brussels, Belgium tomorrow for trade talks with a team led by European Commission Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis

• According to the office of the USTR, "Tai will emphasize the importance of US–European cooperation on a range of shared priorities, including building supply chain resilience, holding Russia accountable for its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and confronting the non-market economic challenges posed by China and other economies."
• In a meeting with Dombrovskis, Tai will discuss the US–EU trade and economic relationship - under significant strain due to EU pushback to the US Inflation Reduction Act.
• Tai will then head to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland to lead the US delegation with Labour Secretary Marty Walsh.
• Politico reports: "Davos will once again be crucial to understand the next steps the Commission will take with the Americans to deal with the Inflation Reduction Act.“The Davos constituency is now key in the EU policymaking,” another official said."
