Iran Nuclear Talks Resume In Qatar

Abas Aslani of CMESS has confirmed that the Iranian Nuclear talks (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) have resumed in Doha Qatar.

  • According to Aslani the first meeting has taken place between Iran's chief negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani and EU negotiator Enrique Mora.
  • The talks are scheduled to run until Friday with a possibility of extending if parties agree.

  • This morning G7 leaders urged Iran "to cooperate substantively with IAEA and to act on an urgent basis to fulfill its legal obligations by providing technically credible information the IAEA requires."
  • The leaders continued in statement: "A diplomatic solution remains the best way to restrict Iran’s nuclear program."
  • According to the Wall Street Journal, US officials have “very low expectations” for the talks.
