Iran, Russia Share View On OPEC+ Decision To Cut Output

Iran's oil minister Javad Owji said that the oil market is on the right track after decisions made by OPEC+, the Iranian news agency Tasnim said.

  • "Iran and Russia are on the have the same views inside OPEC+", Owji added, meaning the OPEC+ decision to cut output late last year and this year’s decision to voluntarily reduce output by several member states.
  • Iran is also interested to purchase oil products from Russia of around 4-5mn t/yr, Interfax reports, citing Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
  • Both countries would consider mutual payments in Yuan according to Tass, citing Alexander Novak.
  • Novak also reiterated that Russia has reduced its crude oil output by 500kbpd compared to the February baseline this month, which would be in line with its pledged output cuts according to Interfax.
