  • The drop comes as the outgoing Biden administration targets more tankers carrying Iran’s oil exports and ahead of the inauguration of Donald Trump on Jan.20.
  • It is expected that the Trump administration will take a tougher stance vis a vis Tehran.
  • a total of 24 VLCCs, 4 Suezmaxes and 2 Aframaxes left Iran in December, carrying a total of 51.4m bbl of crude and condensates.
  • This compares to 54m bbl, or 1.8m b/d in November.
