Iraq’s Crude Oil Output Edged Up in September

OIL

Iraq’s crude oil production in September edged slightly higher to 4.73mbpd, up from 4.71mbpd in August according to the Iraq Oil Report.

  • Fields controlled by the KRG raised their combined output by around 50kbpd as producers found more buyers in the domestic market.
  • Output from fields from Iraq’s federal government slipped to 4.48mbpd last month, compared with 4.51mbpd in August, amid slightly lower output from the Kirkuk fields.
  • The restart of the Iraq-Turkey oil pipeline remains delayed as Iraq still requires an agreement with the KRG to restart flows. The Turkish part of the pipeline is ready for operation as of 4 October according to a letter to SOMO.
