The ISM non-mfg index plunged by 10.7pt to 41.8 in Apr, the lowest level since
Mar 2009 but higher than market forecasts (BBG: 37.5). Business Activity (-22pt)
New Orders (-20pt) and Employment (-17pt) collapsed in Apr, falling to 26.0,
32.9 and 30.0, respectively. All three indicators dropped to their lowest levels
on record. A surge in Supplier Deliveries (+16.2pt) to the highest ever recorded
level held further declines of back. Inventory sentiment (62.6), Imports (49.3),
Inventories (46.9) and Prices (55.1) saw monthly gains in Apr, while Exports
(36.3) and Order Backlogs (47.7) decreased.
