Israel And US To Simulate Strikes On Iranian Nuclear Facilities

The Jerusalem Post has reported that the US and Israeli Air Forces will hold their largest joint military exercises in years this week including, "simulating offensive strikes against Iran’s nuclear program."

  • JP: "The drill will take place from Tuesday until Thursday over the Mediterranean Sea and Israel and will include long-range flights such as those that Israeli pilots might need to make in order to reach the Islamic Republic."
  • Ealier today, Haaretz reported that Israeli assesses the chance of the US/E3 finding a diplomatic solution to Iran's nuclear programme as “near-zero,”
  • A government official, quoted by Haaretz, said that Iran's increased involvement in Ukraine increases Iran military capabilities.
  • The official said: “Until now, Iran had no significant operational experience in the field of munitions. The fighting in Ukraine, involving equipment Iran knows well, could now enable it to accumulate knowledge about using its drones more effectively and about its rocket and missile capabilities."
  • Israel Defence Minister Benny Gantz said in September that Iran has increased its manufacturing of advanced centrifuges by “many hundreds” over the last year and could easily enrich to 90 percent, the level required to produce a nuclear weapon.
