The White House has added an item to President Joe Biden's schedule, confirming that he will deliver remarks later this afternoon regarding the situation in Gaza and efforts to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas.   • Barak Ravid at Axios posts on X: "White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan will meet this afternoon with diplomats from 17 countries that their citizens are held hostage by Hamas in Gaza, according to two sources with knowledge"
  • There has been significnat focus on the White House's stance towards the conflict in Gaza. The IDF has continued its offensive into Rafah, which previously the US had indicated would breach its 'red lines'. However, administration officials have so far refused to say that Israel's actions have crossed their accepted thresholds.
