EQUITIES
EQUITIES: It has been a risk-on Asia-Pac session, with little in the way of game
changing escalation of worry over the weekend, although several familiar stress
points are coming under greater pressure.
- Still, e-minis unwounded the defensive posturing that was witnessed during
Friday's holiday-impacted session, although it was Chinese equities that
continued to steal the headlines, with a fresh multi-year high for the CSI 300
lodged, as the recent technical break extended further, with little in the way
of outright catalysts noted. Turnover in the space remained comfortably above
average levels, while equity positive-commentary pieces in state-media also
garnered some attention.
- Nikkei 225 +1.6%, Hang Seng +3.5% CSI 300 +4.3%, ASX 200 +0.2%.
- S&P 500 futures +37, DJIA futures +354, NASDAQ 100 futures +137.
