Japan Nov Exports +20.0% Y/Y; 21th Monthly Rise

  • Japan's exports rose for 21st straight month by 20.0% y/y in November, following the 25.3% y/y growth marked in October.
  • Imports rose 30.3% y/y in November, after rising 53.5% y/y last month, marking the 22nd monthly rise.
  • Trade balance in November was a deficit of Y2.03 trillion, compared with the previous Y2.16 trillion deficit.
  • Exports to the United States and the European Union rose 32.5% y/y and 32.0% y/y respectively, and to China increased 3.5% y/y.
  • Imports from the United States and China jumped 21.5% and 17.3 respectively, and from the European Union rose 21.1% y/y.
