JAPAN: Japanese purchases of foreign stocks hit record levels in the latest
batch of weekly international security flow data, while foreign purchases of
Japanese bonds swung to the highest level seen since early March, after heavy
selling in the prior week.
- The latter point will be of particular interest to JGB market participants,
with domestic lifer demand already expected in the longer end of the curve,
owing to a perception that the political uncertainty in Europe will act as a
deterrent for Japanese lifer investment in EZ bonds.
