Japan’s Saibu plans to expand its LNG storage capacity with a new 230,000m³ storage tank at its Hibiki terminal at Kita-Kyushu in west Japan's Fukuoka prefecture, in addition of its existing two 180,000m³ tanks according to Argus.

  • Saibu will issue a tender to expand the capacity and for the construction of an LNG regasification unit and truck shipping equipment, Argus said.
  • Saibu confirmed it will make an FID this year based on the tender results. Construction would then begin by March 2025.
