JCPoA Talks To Resume Tuesday

EU confirms in a statement that talks on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (the Iran nuclear deal, JCPoA) will resume tomorrow (Tuesday 8 February) in Vienna.

• "Following a short break, the 8th round of negotiations in Vienna in the framework of the JCPoA will resume tomorrow, on Tuesday 8 February. After consultation in capitals with their respective governments, participants will continue the discussions on the prospect of a possible return of the United States to the JCPOA and how to ensure the full and effective implementation of the agreement by all sides."
• Resumption also confirmed by Iranian Foreign Ministry.
• For Tehran, removal of US sanctions remains the red line in negotiations. Prospect of significant progress, at least in the short-term seems unlikely.
