US TSYS/SUPPLY: Jefferies economist Tom Simons noted that today, "Treasury
announced a $62 bln Refunding package. This auction package is the same size as
last quarter. The $62 bln package of auctions will consist of a $24 bln 3-year
note, $23 bln 10-year note, and a $15 bln 30-year bond. The $62 bln package will
refinance $44.3 bln maturing debt held by the public."
- He adds that "Treasury also provided guidance on upcoming changes to issuance,
though we will have to wait for Congress to act on the debt ceiling and for the
Fed to announce the beginning of the balance sheet normalization process before
we get any additional specifics from Treasury."
