US DATA REACT
US DATA REACT: Jefferies economist Ward McCarthy noted today's "2nd estimate of
Q3 2017 GDP growth reflected an upward revision to +3.3% from the preliminary
estimate of 3.0% growth. The revision is a tad stronger than market
expectations, as the consensus call was for an upward revision to 3.2%."
- He added that "Q1 real final sales - which strip out inventories - were
revised to +2.5% from the initial estimate of +2.3%."
- McCarthy added that the "GDP is up 2.3% YoY vs 2.3% in the first estimate. GDP
rose 1.8% YoY in 2016, so the pace of growth has been improving YTD in 2017.
Growth slowed in the first quarter of this year as it has tended to do in Q1
dating back to 1990, but the slowdown again proved to be temporary as growth
recovered again in Q2 and Q3."
