JERA CEO Plays Down Australia Strike Impact: Platts

Yukio Kani, CEO of JERA, played down the possible impacts of Australian LNG strikes in an interview with Platts on the sidelines of the Gastech conference.

  • "For the moment, I think the market will stay stable," he said, referring to the lower demand during the shoulder months and high European gas storage levels.
  • However, he cautioned that a very severe winter and dwindling gas reserves in Europe could change that assessment, Platts said.
  • JERA is Japan’s largest power generation company.
