Jet Fuel Weekly Demand Ends Trend of Successive Declines: BNEF

JET FUEL

Global weekly passenger jet fuel demand is set to increase following almost two months of straight declines, according to BNEF.

  • Global passenger jet fuel demand is set to increase by 0.3% to 6.3m b/d in the week to Nov. 6.
  • The uptick is driven by a rise in demand from Asia, where jet fuel demand will rise by 40.8k b/d. In China, provisional schedules show domestic flights up by 3.6% over the next four weeks, although last minute cancellations of routes are frequent.
  • Demand is set to continue falling in North America and Europe; flight numbers in the Eurocontrol zone may fall across November, in line with seasonal norms, BNEF said.
