JGBS: JGB futures sit 17 ticks lower ahead of the close, back off early lows.
- From a technical perspective, bears filled the gap that was seen after
Thursday's lunch break, even after BoJ Dep. Gov. Wakatabe sounded a little more
concerned re: the Coronavirus outbreak, following in the footsteps of Gov.
Kuroda yesterday.
- Wakatabe also pushed back against the idea that the BoJ should conduct a
policy review, in lieu of comments made by one board member in the summary of
accounts from the BoJ's Jan meeting.
- Curve bear steepened, with eyes on tomorrow's 30-Year supply, which headlines
the local docket.
