JGBS: JGB futures ticked higher in the final overnight session of last week,
adding to the gains seen in Tokyo hours, as trade war dynamics continued to
dominate.
- Focus remains on the ongoing Japan-South Korea trade spat, with no signs of
respite in the short term. As a reminder, Friday saw Japan formally remove South
Korea from its export white list.
- Elsewhere, the Nikkei reported that "Japan and the United States have agreed
to target a broad deal on bilateral trade by September, seeking to bridge
differences of opinion over tariffs on beef and the automobile sector."
- The latest round of BoJ 5-10 Year Rinban operations provide the highlight of
today's domestic docket.
