US DATA REACT: JPM economist Daniel Silver keeps JPM's Fri Aug. jobs forecast at
200K after ADP. "The ADP employment report showed that private payrolls
increased 237,000 in August, coming out above consensus expectations (185,000),"
he said.
- "The ADP report continued the recent run of strong labor market indicators
that have been reported across many of the related measures,"he said. "We should
keep in mind that the ADP report is not always a reliable predictor of the BLS
data, and the signal from the ADP report is not totally independent from some of
the other indicators (the model for the ADP data incorporates jobless claims
data in addition to other inputs). But overall, the recent data flow keeps us
comfortable with our view that the BLS data on job growth will be strong in
August."
