US DATA REACT: JPM's Daniel Silver on modest pick-up in consumer confidence
(125.4 vs. 123.1 in Dec), the "latest reading was upbeat, but below the recent
peak of the expansion of 128.6 reported for November." Silver notes the "labor
market differential increased from 20.3 in December to 21.2 in January, reaching
a new high for the expansion. This improvement is broadly supportive of our
forecast for Friday's BLS report, which we expect to show strong payroll growth
(200k) and a decline in the unemployment rate (to 4.0%)."
