June CPI Inflation, Consumer Confidence Due At 1300BST

  • CPI inflation data for June will be released at 1300BST(0800ET), with analysts expecting the headline rate to rise to 4.87% y/y, from 4.69%, even as core inflation moderates to 4.14%. Biweekly-CPI data for the second half of June will also cross, which some analysts note could potentially reveal a headline print with a 5-handle. Separately, June consumer confidence is also due at 1300BST, alongside vehicle production and export figures for June. Later today, weekly international reserves figures will also cross at 1600BST.

  • In other news, President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum said yesterday that she will announce further cabinet appointments on Thursday, including her new cabinet chief. She also said that she will announce a new infrastructure plan next week, including plans to build new train lines in 2025.
