June Manufacturing PMI Sees Further Contraction

POLAND
MNI (London)
  • The June polish manufacturing PMI came in over three points below forecast at 44.4, falling 4.1-points from May. Considerable geopolitical strains and employment reductions saw confidence fall to early 2020 lows.
  • This is the lowest manufacturing PMI print since May 2020. Prior to the previous month, the indicator had remained above the breakeven point of 50 since summer 2020.
  • A substantial drop in output and new orders accounted for the bulk of the decline as supply constraints persist and inflation continues to run hot.
  • Price indices did see some easing, however, the report highlighted that this was likely due to the slump in demand.
