June Netherlands-Germany JAO CBC Auction Price Moves in Mixed Directions

The latest cross-border capacity (CBC) auction for delivery in June on the Joint Allocation Office (JAO) in the Dutch-German direction fell compared to the previous auction, while prices in the German-Dutch direction increased, data from JAO show.

  • All 286MW of offered capacity in the Dutch-German direction was allocated at €6.79/MWh, down from €7.52/MWh also for 286MW for May delivery.
  • In the other direction, 254MW of offered capacity was allocated at €3.23/MWh, up from 262MW at €2.43/MWh for May.
  • The Germany-Dutch June spread closed at a €6/MWh premium on 22 May, up from €4.91/MWh from the previous day.
