June Russian Gasoline, Diesel Production Rises on the Year

Production of gasoline rose by 4.6% in June, compared with the same month in 2022, according to Tass. Total production was 21.8 million mt, according to Rosstat.

  • Over the same period, diesel production was up 2.7% to 44.1 million mt.
  • The Russian Energy Ministry said that it was ready to introduce quotas on exports of car fuels to protect supply in the domestic market, but the current situation does not warrant such measures.
  • The Energy Ministry had previously discussed introducing a limit on the number of gasoline exporters crack down on “gray exports” of fuel designated for the domestic market. The proposal received the backing of Russia’s Deputy PM Alexander Novak
