BELGIUM: Just 98 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the past 24 hours, the lowest
level since March 11, a week before Belgium went into lockdown.
- The minority gov't of caretaker PM Sophie Wilmes is under significant pressure
at present, with Belgium recording one of the highest mortality rates in the
West.
- In late May, the main socialist parties from Wallonia and Flanders sought to
launch consultations on forming a new gov't without Wilmes' centrist Walloon
Reform Movement or the Flemish nationalist New Flemish Alliance (the largest
party in Belgium).
