Kazakh Production Slips August

Kazakh crude and condensate production fell in August – a second consecutive month as power outages and maintenance at Tengiz hit production levels.

  • Total crude and condensate production was estimated at 7.07mn tons or 1.66mn bpd according to Bloomberg calculations of government data.
  • That’s down from 1.72mn bpd in July.
  • The Tengiz project, Kazakhstan’s biggest producer, began planned maintenance in August.
  • Excluding condensate, the country’s August crude production is estimated at 1.41m b/d, 144k b/d below its reduced OPEC+ target.
